Does getting a slice of Disney magic in real life really get any better? No, it doesn't. After watching "Halloweentown," it's hard to not wish you were a witch living in a place where it's Halloween 365 days out of the year. Well, for one small town in Oregon, that wish has come true!
The Disney Channel Halloween classic "Halloweentown" was filmed in the small town of St. Helen, Oregon, and they loved the setup so much, they recreate it every year for people to come visit. The tradition has been going on since the film was released back in 1998. Meaning this is the 20th anniversary of "Halloweentown" (holy smokes right?!)
Nestled away on the beautiful Columbia River in the Northwest quadrant of Oregon, just 30 miles outside of Portland, you will find "Halloweentown" for the entire month of October. Yes, that's right! A town that celebrates Halloween all month long! The best part? Halloween is open 24/7!
This year, it's the 20th anniversary of the movie and St. Helen is going all out to celebrate. They've added "The Festival of Fairies" to the usual list of activities. This will allow guests to dress up in fairy wings, make s'mores and, "look inside 'boxes of wonders' that contain fanciful scenes," according to The Chronicle, the town's local newspaper.
How much will you have to pay to have such a magical experience? ONLY ONE DOLLAR! THAT'S RIGHT ONE DOLLAR!!! The festivities will begin The festival includes classic fall activities like corn mazes and pony rides, but there's also a Museum of Oddities and a Spirit of "Halloweentown" gift shop to enjoy as well!
And of course, you can't miss out on the Haunted House in town. Safe to say it's probably a pretty scary one considering it's in "Halloweentown"!
Because Halloweentown, er, St Helen, is the best, the town is set up with photo ops, tours, and costume contests every weekend of October, so you can really get in the Halloween spirit.
