If you happen to be a San Diego local, then chances are you have been to Liberty Station at least a few hundred times (if you haven't, then 10/10 would recommend). At Liberty Station, drivers can see a massive, brightly-colored sign casually reminding them that: "You are exactly where you need to be." One sentence, eight simple words, yet such a profound meaning.

It makes me think, how many times a week, or even a day, do I forget this. Most of the time we go through life either dwelling on yesterday or worrying about tomorrow, but what about right now? What about all of the joys, struggles, ups and downs that today brings? We tend to forget about how incredibly and unbelievably blessed we are to be living in this very moment. Whether you're in class, doing homework, at home, or with your friends; whether you're happy, sad, stressed, or even going through the hardest time of your life, remember that you are exactly where you need to be.

I know it sounds kind of cliché sometimes, especially because you've probably heard it about a million times, but God does have a plan for you. You might be in a season of your life where you're filled with loneliness, anxiety, depression or fear. Or maybe you are in the midst of great joy, fulfillment and security. Either way there is freedom in understanding God is in control. You don't have to have it all figured out, you don't have to do it all on your own because He is bigger than even our greatest fears. He is joy, He is good, and He is love.

So just remember, whatever you are experiencing right now, God has a plan and He is always good. Whatever you're feeling right now, God has a plan and He is always good. Whatever you're waiting for, whatever you're grieving for, whatever you're searching for, God has a plan and He is always good. So stay strong, trust in Him and live in this moment because you are exactly where you need to be.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
