Brock Allen Turner, you are no longer a swimmer. You are a rapist. Judge Persky, you should no longer be called honorable. You sentenced Brock Turner to only 6 months in jail. Mr. Turner, shame on your for standing behind your son in the way that you are.

Brock Turner, your face will be recognized every where you turn, and it will not be for your previous accomplishments. You will be recognized because of the horrendous rape you committed. You knowingly inserted yourself into an unconscious woman who needed help. She needed you to call 911, and to be a gentleman. You instead made the horrible decision to rape her.

Your victim is no longer okay because of you. Her survivor letter tells you that, but do you care? Probably not. You blame the party culture on your decisions. Party culture is all over the country, and not every one is influenced to rape someone because of it. You are just too much of a coward to own up to what you did.

Your father is at fault too. Rape is not "20 minutes of action." Your father needs to realize what you did. You destroyed a woman's life for your own benefit. You did not see her as a human being. Why does your father not see that? It is his duty as your parent to tell you what you did was wrong. Instead he is in the same mindset as Judge Persky.

Your father and Judge Persky are both blinded at the fact that you were once a great athlete with all of these accomplishments. You are no longer that great athlete. You deserve to be stripped of all of your titles, accomplishments, and everything that once made you the person you were. You are now a rapist. You deserve nothing.

Judge Persky, you seriously need to think about the precedent you have set for any prestigious athlete, and decorated student. You claim to be the defender of battered woman, but where were you to defend this woman? The sentence you handed down to Brock Allen Turner was ridiculous. Six months in jail is not an appropriate sentence.

Oh but wait, he has to register as sex offender, and will be known as that the rest of his life, and he will have three years of probation. That still isn't enough. Judge Persky left his identity as a defender of battered woman, and took the side of the rapist. According to an article published by CNN, "The judge had to bend over backwards to accommodate this young man's request for a probation," said Stanford professor Michele Dauber.

Brock Turner will be eligible for release on September 2, 2016 with credit for good behavior, and Judge Persky just won his spot on the bench running unopposed. Brock Turner deserves to be in prison, and Judge Persky needs to be recalled.

Both of you have taken away a woman's identity, and let her feel as if she meant nothing. No human being ever deserves to feel like that.

To Brock Turner's victim. I am so so sorry for everything you have been put through. I can't speak to how you are feeling right now, but I know there are a lot of people out there that have your back. You are going to become the strength for woman who tragically go through the same thing. You, along with other rape survivors are in my prayers everyday.

Brock Turner, your face will never be forgotten. You are going to encounter a lot of angry people, but I do not wish you any harm. My only wish for you is that you realize the harm you have caused so many people, and that you find a way to change yourself.

Rape is a serious topic. It is a topic that needs to be talked about as a problem everyday. It cannot subside once the heat from this sentencing dies down. Please do not be afraid to speak up. Be the voice of those who cannot tell their story. Keep the conversation alive.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
