You are loved no matter who you voted for.
I think this election has caused a lot of drama and tension between everyone. At least, that is how it seems to me. Ever since they announced who won the electoral votes, there have been protests, riots, and confusion. How did someone who seemed so crazy and had ridiculous ideas get into office? I think that the real question is how didn’t he get into office.
I will honestly say, I was not a Trump supporter. I didn’t find some of his views to correlate with what I thought was morally right, however, when I took the time to step back and look at how many people thought what I believed in was morally wrong, it made me realize that this is what our country is.
Our country isn’t just one person or party’s ideas. Our country has a vast amount of views, ideologies, and practices. We aren’t a country that likes to sit back politely, and let something bother us, and I think that is why there is so much violence going on right now.
If we take a look around, really take a look around and start to see each other as humans with feelings and opinions, we will be able to get a lot farther. No I don’t agree with everything that is being proposed, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to go out and kill someone, or act violently necessarily. I think the best way to get the message across to people who disagree with you is to talk to them. Granted I can’t talk to Mr. Trump, but I can talk to people who voted for him to get my view across, and also understand their view.
At this point there is no changing who is the President, Trump won the electoral college votes, and there is not anything anyone can do about that. Does it suck? Sure. That doesn’t mean there will be as many negative things going on as what we believe there will be. We have to open our minds to the possibilities that things will be okay.
I, like a lot of other individuals, was concerned about my well-being. I read some articles on why people believed that liberals were to blame. I feel like just because someone in the Republican party won is not a valid reason to blame all liberals. It was brought to my attention that if Hillary would have won, people would have still been angry, and very unhappy like some people are now. Liberals should not be to blame for all of the protests and riots that are happening. There are still some Republicans that are not happy with the President being in office.
We all need to come together and realize that whatever happens, isn’t going to be the end of the world. There have been Presidents people didn’t like before, and there will be Presidents that people don’t like in the future. We need to come together as a Nation to realize that everything will be okay, and accept each other for who they are.
If you voted for Hilary, Trump, or Harambe, just know that you are loved. It might be hard to see it right now, but you are. The world can be a hard place to live in, but with each other’s support we can make it a little bit easier.
