"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us..." 1 John 3:16.
How lucky are we to be so loved by a Father that sent his only son to die a brutal death on this Earth for us? When I think about what Jesus did for us, it brings tears to my eyes. No matter how long I have known the Lord or how long I have heard the story of Jesus dying on the cross, it still just wrecks my heart.
Just stop and think about that for a minute. If you were the only person on this Earth, He still would have come and died on that cross for you because he loves you and wants a relationship with you. How stinking lucky are we to be able to experience a love like that?
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" 1 John 1: 9.
How lucky are we to be so loved by a faithful and forgiving Father? A Father that is slow to anger. A Father that forgives all of our sins. A Father that is faithful when sometimes we are faithless. Often times, we encounter instances in our lives when we feel lost and alone. We don't understand why certain things in our lives are happening and sometimes we lose faith, but he is still faithful. When we rely on God in those situations and trials in our lives, as times passes we can see where he was in every single situation, no matter how bad it may have been.
"God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
How lucky are we to be so loved by a Father that even in the midst of our sins, he would die for us over and over again if he needed to. That gives me chills. We are so blessed to be able to encounter and experience a love like this. We have done nothing to deserve this love, but he gives it freely.
These are just a few verses that talk about God's love for us. Whenever you are feeling low, unworthy, or unloved, read these verses and remind yourself that you are loved and you are priceless. Jesus paid the ultimate price when he suffered on that cross and He did that for you. For me. For all of us. Often times, we base the idea of love and self-worth off of relationships, friendships, and opinions of others, but we should really be basing those ideas off of God's love for us and what he speaks over our lives.
Please know that you ARE loved and you ARE enough. I cannot stress that enough. You have a purpose that stretches far greater than you could ever imagine. You are loved by a forgiving, faithful, and merciful God. You are enough for him. He has a purpose and calling on your life even when you cannot see that sometimes.
If you don't know about the Lord and want to know more about him, dive into the Word or reach out to someone. You can reach out to me. The Lord wants to have a relationship with you. He wants to know you and he wants you to see and experience his love. It is the purest and most amazing love. He is your best friend, a great listener, and a healer, and he wants to know YOU.
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." John 14:6-7
