The benefit of yoga is that it can calm your mind and create a balance within oneself. Yoga can help with many more things than just stress and anxiety; there are poses for flexibility, weight loss, sleep, back pain and much more. These poses are great ones to go to when you are in need of escaping stress and or anxiety.

Corpse Pose (Savasana)


Benefits:

This puts your body at ease. It emphasizes total relaxation. It can trigger a state of deep rest that slows breathing, lowers blood pressure, and quiets the nervous system.

Childs Pose (Balasana)


Benefits:

It is a resting pose that quiets the mind and eases the stress. It also benefits the nervous system and lymphatic system.

Bridge Pose


Benefits:

This pose provides gentle stretching of the back and legs. It reduces anxiety, fatigue, backaches, and insomnia.

Half Pigeon Pose


Benefits:

There is a lot of emotional stress that can help within your hips. By doing the half pigeon pose, a hip opener, you can help to release some of that stress. With confronting those emotions, it will alleviate stress and anxiety.

Tree Pose (Vriksasana)


Benefits:

This one is similar to the tree pose. A little more challenging while going into the horizontal part. This can increase your self-confidence through your physical balance. Also, can cause a boost in your mental and emotional balance.

Cat Cow Pose


Benefits:

Gently warms the spines through this stretching pose. It soothes and stretches the lower back extremely. It will also relieve the stress built up in the spine while massaging the spine. At the same time also calming the mind. Massages and stimulate organs and creates emotional balance.

Seated Forward Bend

Benefits:

This pose helps to calm the brain. It also helps relieve mild depression, anxiety, fatigue, headache, menstrual discomfort and insomnia. It will also lower blood pressure. Most importantly calming the mind.

Legs Up The Wall Pose

Benefits:

It helps stress reduction. It also helps renew blood and lymph drainage back into the heart area. It will also help reduce your anxiety and stress levels. It will lower your blood pressure and help get rid of headaches.
