My faith is a huge part of my life and it is something that I am very proud of. I know, some of you are thinking of all the Christians you know who think better of themselves because of their religion. Trust me, yes I am a Christian, but no I don't think I am better because of it. I still struggle just like everyone else. Life with faith is not all rainbows and butterflies sewn together with some bible verses. Life is difficult, it's agonizing and sometimes it seems like even faith can't help you.

As a Christian in the millennial generation, I've heard this common misconception that people who find God, or whatever they put their faith in, have all their problems simply washed away. I think that we are so caught up in painting this perfect picture of what our faith looks like that we forget what is important. Just because I believe in God does not mean that I'm automatically happy all the time, or that everything is perfect.

I am human. Let me say it again for the people in the back. I am human. I still make mistakes, I struggle with temptation, with earthy things. I fail, and I mess up. Let me say this, Just because you claim a religion, doesn't mean you get a "good life always" card. It isn't the proclamation of faith that gives you anything. My faith isn't something I use as an excuse for my behavior. I am flawed, in every sense of the word. I hold grudges, I make countless mistakes, I am forever asking for forgiveness from my Father.

To the ones who feel jaded by faith because other people, cut yourself a little slack. I know the God I believe in wants nothing more than to get to know you, and love you. For the ones who are in the same boat as me, struggling to be this "perfect Christian" STOP! I say stop because you shouldn't be living your life for the ones around you, and the ONLY opinion that matters is the one of Your Creator. There is no need to beat yourself up because you made a mistake or mess up. You are human, and you will make mistakes, don't let that discourage you because you are trying your best with such good intentions. You've got this. Let's stop making life a competition to see who is better, and just love each other.

Yes I am a Christian, and yes I am Human, and no I am not better than anyone else.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
