With summer approaching, there will soon be a lot to do. From travelling and beach days to ice cream runs and camping, it will sure be a good season to remember. However, what is noteworthy about this summer is the lineup of movies to look forward to. With the premiere of trailers that immediately hype the viewer to think, “Man, I have to see that movie.” Here is a look at five movies that seem like prime picks to purchase a movie ticket for:

"It Comes at Night" (June 9th)

While the world is going through a bleak and unknown apocalypse, a household takes in a family of desperate runaways. As they come to terms with the rules there is a rule that they must never leave their home at night. This rule along with the dangers of the apocalypse getting closer in. This film is produced by A24, the same studio that brought the Academy Award winner, "Moonlight."

"Despicable Me 3" (June 30th)

Former villain turned hero Gru (Steve Carrell) must stop a former 80s star, Balthazar Bratt, from stealing a precious diamond. In order to stop him, Gru must team up with his long lost twin brother, Dru for a final heist, and steal back the diamond that Balthazar Bratt took. Hysterically funny if you liked the first two films in the series.

"Spider Man: Homecoming" (July 7th)

Yes, this is the third restart of a new "Spider Man" series featuring the Spider Man from "Captain America: Civil War." This movie stars Tom Holland as the title character. Tom takes over Andrew Garfield, who took over Toby Maguire as the first Spider Man. Even though this movie may seem like a black sheep in the Marvel Movie franchise, this movie is something to look forward to if you are a fan of Marvel.

"Dunkirk" (July 21st)

The first war epic that is directed by Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight" trilogy, "Inception"). Dunkirk tells the true historical story of the Dunkirk evacuation of allied soldiers from the advancing and relentless German army. With feature length trailers being shown over a year before its expected release, there is definitely a lot of hype behind this film.

"The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger" (August 4th)

Based off of Stephen King’s bestselling series, the first volume of "The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger" tells the story of a child who fantasizes of a mystic land, only to find out that it does exist. Approached by a protector who is known as the ‘Gunslinger,’ the boy joins him to unravel the secrets and protect the Dark Tower, the pillar which connects the Gunslinger’s world to Earth.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. "Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
