As I have gotten older, I have tried to set realistic resolutions that I want to accomplish for the new year.

While some people may make fun of the idea of having a list of resolutions for the new year, I think that it is a good idea to set up positive and realistic goals that can be accomplished if you put your mind to it. Here are my New Years resolutions for 2018.

1. Eat Healthier

For the majority of 2017, I haven't been eating the healthiest. Especially in the beginning of the year, I was in my first year of college away from home and my diet consisted of nothing but junk food and ramen noodles to finish off the day. This year, I want to make sure that I eat better and fuel my body with healthy foods.

2. Work Out

I gained more weight than I would have liked during 2017 so my goal for 2018 is to lose the extra weight I gained. Also, I want to improve my strength and going to the gym and working out seems like it would have a positive influence on my health and my life in general.

3. Figure out my plans after college

This is probably the biggest and most important one on my list. Figuring out, career-wise, what I want to do after I graduate college in May is something that I want to figure out this year. Going on as many job interviews as possible and hopefully landing the perfect first "real" job.

4. Learn how to save my money

This is something that my entire life I have failed to do properly. The second I would get a paycheck, I would spend it all immediately. For this year, I want to try and put aside money to save up for when I really need something on the expensive side and not spend all of my money at once.

5. Stop Procrastinating

I save everything until the very last second. Seriously, it's horrible. Although my excuse is always, "diamonds are made under pressure", it isn't the best excuse in prolonging assignments that were assigned weeks ago and doing them a couple hours before they are due.

6. Reduce stress

I stress and worry about anything and everything possible. This year, I want to make sure that I take more time in making sure I am cool, calm, and collected instead of being stressed out all of the time.

7. Focus on myself more

I tend to worry about others more than I worry about myself. While this can be good, I take it too far and make sure the people I care about the most are getting every ounce of energy out of me, causing me to forget about my own needs and what I need to take care of within my own life. I want this year to be the year where I do focus on myself and my successes before I dive into everyone else's issues.

These 7 things are the main resolutions I have for the year 2018. I hope that I can try my best to succeed with everything on the list and hopefully make the best out of the new year.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

The 14 Stages Of The Last Week Of Class

You need sleep, but also have 13 things due in the span of 4 days.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
