Every year, we all try to make a list of new year's resolutions that we say we will do. Everybody always has the same ones; I'll eat healthier, I'll study more, I'll try to put my phone down once in a while. But, for me personally, none of these seem to work out.
So, this year, I think it is important that the resolution that I choose to make is something realistic and something that I know I can carry out and hopefully use to make next year even better than the last.
This year, my resolution is to make a difference. I am trying to keep it vague in hopes that I can apply it to many different realms and areas of my life. Whether it is going to be making a difference in my personal life, my academics, or the world on a larger scale somehow, I am going to strive to do something that stands out and something that for me, has a purpose.
Rather than having such specific New Year's resolutions year after year and forgetting about them within the 24 hour period after making them, I think that everyone should be a little vaguer this year and a little more broad in what they are hoping to achieve.
Maybe by being a little less specific and a little less determined, we can actually make more of a difference and an impact on our lives and those of the people around us.
