2019 Is The Year To Say "Thank U, Next" To Your Negative Attitude

I have never considered myself to be the biggest optimist in the world. In fact, just like everyone else, I have bad days where all I want to do is be angry about everything. And yes, if waiting in the line at Chipotle takes more than 20 minutes, you can bet you'll hear me complaining about it.

But I am sick and tired of having pessimistic people in my life.

You all know exactly the type of people I'm talking about. The people who wake up on the wrong side of the bed every day. The people who find a way to take something good and make it sound negative. The people who, for no reason, hate on things that other people love just because they can.

I don't really understand the point of being pessimistic. Do you think you're cool for hating things? Or are you just that insecure with who you are as a person that you feel the need to make the people around you miserable?

Whatever it is, 2019 is the year to change your attitude.

It's time to realize that life, although sometimes horrible and unfair, is beautiful and special. There is no reason to hate on something just because it isn't your favorite thing. There's no reason to be rude to people just because you share different opinions. Did you ever stop to think how much happier you might be as a person if you spread happiness and love instead of negativity and hate?

Our lives are not long enough to spend every waking moment hating things. Life is for a limited time only: take full advantage of it.

Quite frankly, unless the negative ninnies in my life turn things around in the new year, I'm completely prepared to say "thank u, next" and leave them behind.

Christmas is literally so close. We can almost taste it. But there is just one thing standing between you and the big day: FINALS. It's not the studying, lack of sleep, last minute cram sessions or crappy food intake that is the worst... but the fact that you cannot focus because, well, CHRISTMAS. How do professors expect you to focus when Christmas is soooo soon. For all my fellow Christmas lovers out there, I feel your pain.

One of the most dreaded places on campus is the library. Nothing awesome ever happens here. Usually, the only reason you're here is because you've procrastinated so long that the library is the only place you'll actually get stuff done. It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

With each new year comes new goals.

Deciding on a goal can be hard, unsure of what to change for this new year. A new goal for myself is to be happier and take care of myself more. I am a very driven person; so driven that I commit to a million and ten things.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
