"New year, new me" often times means "new year, time to get my life together and knock out everything I've been procrastinating." It's totally understandable and I do the same exact thing. It's a time to reorganize, plan, get back on track, kick old habits and to just start fresh. I'm a big advocate of putting pen to paper and writing down what you need to do. After all, there aren't a lot of better feelings than marking through the "to-do's" on your to-do list. Start 2017 off on the right foot and buy yourself a killer planner that will help you organize, prioritize and goal-set.

1. Rifle Paper Co.

They've got everything you need to organize your life, their planners are just one of a few. If you're looking for something small but not too small, with a weekly layout and a few lines to make a list of your Monday-Sunday do's, then this planner is the one for you!

2. Passion Planner

If you've got a million and one things going on at all times, this planner is the one for you. It has plenty of lies to write down every meeting, dinner and lunch date, test, quiz, and practice. There's also extra room on the bottom of the pages to write down goals for the week, a work do-do list and a personal to-do list and extra space to align your passions, duh. If you need something simple, this isn't your best option. But if you're always on the go and need some killer lines and spaces to jot down and plan out every hour of your day, this planner just became your best friend.

3. Julia Kostreva Planners

This is the planner I currently have and I absolutely love it. It has a lot more blank space and room for you to fill it up however you want and need. It is a weekly layout without any lines. There aren't any pre planned dates, so you can pick up this cute little planner at any time of the year and start with whatever date you need. My favorite thing about Julia Kostreva planners are their ability to travel well and light. It's paper backed and can bend and mold to fit in my purse, carry on, or in my hand.

4. The Happiness Planner

Your guide to ~focusing on what makes you happy~ in 2017. This planner will not only let you plan out your life and write down your never ending to-do list, but it will help you "understand yourself better and become more self-aware by answering questions and practicing self-reflection." This probably isn't the best journal if you're looking for something quick, but the best journal if you want a complete "get my life together" planner/journal.

5. Emily Ley Planner's

PSA to all the over-organized girl bosses out there. If you want tabs, this has it. If you want lines, this has it. If you want room every day to fit every single task, this has it. Emily Ley planners have got everything you could possibly need to organize every day, week and month.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
