10 Ways You Know Your From Warminster, PA

Warminster, Pennsylvania is a township that I'd like to call home. There are many norms and things that you remember living in, or just visiting Warminster. Here are some of my top ten ways you know your from Warminster:

1.) "Oh, yeah, I'm like right outside of Philly." When people ask you where your from that is the best answer to give them. We are near Philadelphia, but it all honesty, it takes a little less than an hour if we were to drive there. Even though Warminster may seem populated to me, to other people, they have no idea where this place is.

2.) County Line Road. The road that seems never to be repaired. Don't even get me started on the traffic. You might as well grab some Dunkin' because if the roadwork is bad that day, you could be sitting there for over 15 minutes.

3.) The best pizza joints are Frank's and Pizza Plaza. These are always popular joints for the kids because they are cheap and they are pretty damn good too. And you always know to order/go in early on Fridays because once the clock strikes around 7pm, everyone starts filling in.

4.) There is always somewhere to go. We have about 3 malls that are within 30 minutes from Warminster. There is Willow Grove, Neshaminy, and Montgomeryville Mall. All these malls are great and come stocked with a bunch of stores and dining services that cater to everyone's needs.

5.) New Jersey = our summer vacation. Everyone in Warminster or in neighboring areas all go to the Jersey shore for vacation. This is usually the shores from Ocean City to Wildwood. And it's not usually to see schoolmates or friends on the boardwalk.

6.) Usually if your live in Warminster and attend a public high school, you are heading to good ol' William Tennent High School. Tennent is full of great kids and personalities. The students that go always give a good attitude for school events like Homecoming, Black and White Night, and even Powder Puff. Something I miss the most about Tennent was the school spirit that was instilled into every panther student.

7.) Chipotle and Panera are go to eateries. Even though they are both directly across from each other in Valley Square, they aren't competition because people always go back and fourth to both places. It's not unusual for one of your friends to get Chipotle and another get Panera and just you both take your food into Panera or vice verse in Chipotle. Both of these restaurants are extremely popular and are defiantly ad fan-favorite of people from Warminster.

8.) One, two, and three. That's how many Walmart's that we need in Warminster. Not to mention that they are all super-Walmarts which each contain their own Auntie Anne's or a Subway. So now no matter where you go in Warminster, a local Walmart is only a minute away!

9.) Even though we love our township, we all do love the city. It isn't very hard to get there either. SEPTA is a great way to get to Center City and do some intense shopping. Also, it is a lot easier to take the train than to drive because you'll be in traffic forever.

10.) Lastly, we represent our Philadelphia sports teams with pride. From the Eagles to the Philles, we wear their colors with pride. Also, it doesn't hurt that every Monday Dunkin' Donuts has free coffee if the Eagles pull out a win.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
