9 Shows You Need To Be Binge-Watching Now That We're Isolated

Now that we're all social distancing, a lot of us have found we have a LOT of free time! With this newly acquired free time comes boredom. The best way to keep boredom away is to watch a new show!

I've compiled a list that my friends and I have all started watching on Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ that you're sure to enjoy!

Netflix Shows You NEED To Be Watching!

We all know Netflix is constantly adding new shows, but I've picked out a few that will surely knock your socks off!

1.Sex Education: This British comedy series will have you laughing from start to finish. You follow the store of a socially awkward teenager who starts to run an underground sex clinic throughout his school alongside his gutsy classmate, courtesy of what he learns from his sex therapist mother.

2.Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: this musical, comedic series will have you singing, crying, and laughing with all the characters. Follow alongside Rebecca as she starts on her crazy and whimsical quest for love.

3. Mindhunter: for all you crime nuts, this one is for you! This dark, drama is set in the late 1970s and follows alongside two FBI agents as they interview real serial killers. (Based on a true story!)

Hulu Shows You Must Start Now!

Hulu will always be one of the best streaming services and these shows are part of the reason why!

1. The Good Place: this show is comedic gold! Follow along a wild cast of character's as they go through the afterlife finding out what it truly means to be "good".

2. This Way Up: Watch this hilariously awkward young Irish woman put her life back together after suffering from a nervous breakdown. This show will make you laugh and cringe all at once, yet you won't be able to stop watching!

3. 9-1-1: If you love crime shows with some action, this show is perfect for you! Follow along with a fire department in LA as they handle some of the most dangerous (and weird) emergencies!

Nothing Like Some Nostalgia on Disney+

Disney+ is the newest streaming service to captivate my friend group (and probably yours too)! Here are some old Disney shows they live up to how good they were when we were young!

1. That's So Raven: follow along with Raven as she deals with being psychic and a teenager all in one!

2. Phineas and Ferb: this cartoon hit will still have you laughing! Watch the two brothers have days after days of crazy fun at home during summer vacation!

3. The Mandalorian: And if you want to catch up on the hype of baby Yoda, this is the show to do it with! Follow a lone bounty hunter through this action-packed series that will have you on the edge of your seat!

We hope that this list will give you a couple of shows to keep you busy during this time of isolation! Remember to stay at home!!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
