1.) At exactly midnight, every night of my life, the bell at the abandoned church at the end of our street strikes 13 times. The birds on the trees around the building tend to swarm off when the 13th ring goes, and for a second our tiny town seems to be completely silent. As the clock switches from 11:59 to 12:00 I hear the bell start. 'Ring. ring, ring, ring... 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12...

2.) Three years ago, they said we wouldn't make it, they told us we didn't have a chance. Today, I look back on the three years that have passed, and wonder if they were right. Is tonight the night we die, is tonight the night it all ends, were they right?

3.) She told me I would have exactly 7 minutes and 19 seconds to get in, grab the papers, leave the evidence and get out. I would have to keep my head down and move quickly through the crowds that would be gathering to see the explosion. She gave me 7 minutes and 19 seconds, but no amount of time was enough for what I was about to do.

4.) On January 19th, every year, our town gathers around the tomb of our towns founder. People bring flowers and candles and we reminisce his memory, and thank him for creating the town that has kept us safe from the outside world. This year, we weren't safe...

5.) From my window on the backside of our house I can see a faint flicker in the trees that lay at the end of our yard. It flickers for a few minutes and then tends to disappear, but tonight it grew larger, it was beautiful and I couldn't stand not knowing what it was for a second longer...

6.) The first time I realized I was different than everyone else was in the seventh grade. It was my turn to stand up to present a book report to the class, I was nervous and my heart was racing. As I got to the front of the classroom I realized that the room was completely silent, turning around to see what was happening, I saw...

7.) Sometimes stories don't always have to be the cliché, boy and girl like each other yet don't get together until the end, sometimes the story is different all together. Sometimes its boy and boy or girl and girl. Sometimes it isn't a happily ever after but instead its a lesson well learned. Take my story for example...

8.) He was the right one for me, it was just the wrong time. He was perfect, a gentleman, kind, strong, caring, everything I was looking for in a guy; the problem was, I wasn't looking for one at the time. I was too focused on...

9.) Her necklace laid against her flawless skin, reflecting the light perfectly. The jewel in the necklace seemed to change colors the more I looked at it and it perplexed me as to how it was doing it. "It's a dragons sight charm. It is said to change colors around certain people depending on what they will bring into you life." I couldn't help but ask her what the deep blue color meant that it had morphed into, it seemed to match the color of her eyes perfectly and I couldn't help but stare. She looked me in the eyes and whispered, "love, followed by unearthly pain..."

10.) I didn't know how, but I knew I needed to learn fast. If I didn't who knows would be next, how do I stop it? Can I control it? Is it even mine to control? I didn't know the answers yet, but I was on a mission to find them, because every second I waited meant one more person could possibly die..

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
