I'm not talking about the type of writing that you do in school or that you're forced to do. I'm talking about the type of witting that makes you dig deep into yourself. Pull out what you keep holding in, write it down on paper or your computer. You'll have a lot to say I promise, but here are some more reasons why it's good for you:
1. You are able to get your feelings out there, even if no one will see it.

Whatever emotion you're feeling, you can write them all down. Sometimes writing notes or letters to people who make you feel angry, sad, happy, etc. will help take some weight off your shoulders, even if they won't see it. You still put it down somewhere.
2. Comfort.

Writing is like talking to someone you know won't judge you and will always listen. It's like your go-to friend that's always there at any time in the day.
3. Clears your mind.

Having so many thoughts bottled up inside you is not healthy. Get what you have to say out there on paper or on your phone. It helps you move on.
4. Entertainment.

Writing can mean anything. If you like to write about stories, or moments that happened and you don't want to forget. Looking back and reading them is very amusing.
5. Heals wounds/grief.

This is a big one. When someone you love or care for passes away, it's hard to say how you truly feel about it. Or, you can write them a letter if you want to just talk to them. However, it doesn't have to only be someone who died. It could be a breakup or distant parting.
6. Strengthens imagination.

Creativity comes from writing. The more you write, the stronger your vocabulary and word play becomes. You'll see.
7. Happiness.

Trust me on this, writing is a great form on self-care and will make you feel so much better about yourself and any situation, even if you don't verbally address it.
8. Relieves stress.

One of the best remedies out there is writing. A weight is pulled from your shoulders, at least a little bit.
9. Challenges your brain.

Like I said before, the more you write, the better your wordplay becomes. You start to use words you never knew the meaning of before. It makes you think.
10. Memories.

A good way to start writing is to just start a diary, and write down moments that you remember throughout your day or week. The great thing about writing is that it never goes away. Whether you write daily, weekly, or monthly, it's always good to keep in touch with yourself.
