Odyssey, You Have Been A Blessing To Me

Where else would I have been able to express myself or relate to others so easily??

Odyssey, You Have Been A Blessing To Me

I was super hesitant about joining a group of people where writing was the main thing.

I mean, me as a writer? Psh, never.

Because, first off, I am not a great writer.

Secondly, I thought I would never be able to write so easily about anything I wanted.

And thirdly, it took all the motivation I had for me to just write a paper for school.

However, all of that changed whenever I joined Odyssey.

Before I joined, I was familiar with Odyssey articles from my Facebook feed.

I would see where a lot of my friends would share these articles.

From there, I would take the time to read them.

Every Odyssey article I ever read always related to my life in some way.

Being asked to join the Odyssey family was such a blessing because I knew that I would be able to express my ups and downs of life and there would be someone out there who could relate to it.

I don't know, it is such a nice feeling knowing your words could make someones day and remind them that they are not alone.

Even though my time with writing for odyssey is coming to an end, I will always remember what it felt like to write out my thoughts.

It was basically like an open diary for me.

I not only grew in my writing, but I also met a lot of great people throughout.

As much of a pain as I was at times, my team always remand patient with me and always encouraged with me.

I am glad I was able to be a part of something that always stood out to me.

Odyssey will continue to a part of my life, but just from the reader point of view now.

Keep it up writers and thank you for having me!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
