These famous words are the scariest to writers and scholars. What does it actually mean? Courtesy of Merriam Webster it means "a psychological inhibition preventing a writer from proceeding with a piece." Dictionary.com explains it as "a usually temporary condition in which a writer finds it impossible to proceed with the writing of a novel, play, or other work." So, how do people combat writer's block? Here are three popular ways.

1. Listening To Music

Music, no matter the genre, is wildly popular for people. Goals of musicians and artists are often to create music to get people to listen, to relate, and to spread the feelings. Listening to certain genres, depending on one's mood can help to spark interests in topics for pieces we may be writing

2. Go On An Adventure

The most spontaneous of ideas are great ways to think of topics for writing. Even think about previous adventures with family, friends, or peers is great. So, why not get up, go out, and do something random and spontaneous? It could even turn into a lifetime of memories!

3. Ask For Topic Ideas From Peers

When people struggle with writer's block, often they turn to peers and others to help spark interest for ideas. Coming up with topics on your own can be very difficult. Sometimes, even when given a topic idea, it can be hard to formulate further ideas and writings.

Writer's block will definitely happen to all of us. No matter who we are.
