The ability to write is something anyone is capable of doing. Putting words in an order to make people actually feel your story, is a completely different unique trait to have. To be a writer is both a blessing and a curse. You can move people with your words towards a strong feeling. Sometimes, these strong feelings could be anger, hurt or fear. You want people to read uplifting words because there is too much pain in the world, but sometimes you have to dig deeper into harsher feelings. Whether positive or negative, these words create reactions. Reactions are exactly what the writer wants the reader to feel. To make people laugh, cry, or even scream in agony is a personal accomplishment to the writer.
Some writers never re-read any of their old work, no matter how great the public thought their story was. To them, they could have always done better. Sometimes a story that is put together, is just something the writer needed to get off their chest. The reason writers unravel such powerful stories, is because in life they experience things that move them as well.
Another thing that all writers struggle with is the unfortunate writer's block. Sometimes writers have beautiful stories to tell in their minds, but for the life of them they cannot think of the words to display that story with. Thankfully, for a writer, their laptop is their work space. When creativity strikes, the writer can whip out their laptop wherever they may be.
The most wonderful thing about writing to me is that there are so many different forms of writing, and you do not have to stick to just one form. There’s poetry, short stories, novels, songs, articles, journals, and so much more. Writing can be stressful, but extremely rewarding. It takes a lot of perseverance, and on the ball thinking. Words are a powerful tool and a tool that everyone has. These words can hold the factual information you can learn from, or these words can hold a riveting tale that takes people deep into their wildest imagination.
Being a writer is a beautiful thing and an amazing experience. It has been a wonderful opportunity to even be able to call myself a writer. Some writers get to travel to do their work and meet interesting people. One day I hope to be able to accomplish being a writer that does just that. I think overall, however, the best thing about being a writer is that it does not work, it's not a hobby or a talent. To me, it is a passion that I enjoy deeply, and I'm sure the more I exercise this passion, the better I will become.
