In an era where your everyday college kid can rise to millionaire status within a year or two with the blooming success of some start-up company that began as a summer business venture with friends, it can be hard for millennials to know which path will take them to the most fulfilling destination life has to offer them down the road. Seeing the people I grew up with venture out in all sorts of different directions after high school left me initially excited about the years to come as adulthood sets in and we start the rest of our lives. Coming back from a first year of college that proved to be incredibly mentally, emotionally, and socially challenging, however, and learning where everybody's choices a year ago led them and how the bold decisions they've made along the way have set them on distinct courses they seem so sure about, has simply left me confused about what I want to be doing 10 years from now, and more than a little worried.
Discovering Odyssey was a stroke of luck for me. Writing everything down has always helped to bring me clarity, and the past few months of weekly articles have given me an invaluable outlet to share and connect with others going through the same sort of identity crisis. With the hope that I can inspire others to join the Odyssey or create a blog of your own, I embarked on some soul-searching and came up with the following 10 reasons that best capture why I write for the Odyssey.

4*. Dat

7. The invaluable experience of writing coherent, relevant articles that the young people of this day and age can enjoy and relate to that at the same time allow me to pursue a form of self-expression that is at once both somewhat kept within the sphere of my peers and at the same time available to strangers with like minds.

*Dearest readers (if you are actually reading this, than its probably because I did some shameless self-promotion to get you to click on the link to this article and share it, and you felt obliged to give it a brief skim), I get $20 every time my thoughtful piece of prose gets the most shares out of all articles published each week in my school's chapter. And, as most of you are fellow broke college students, I'm sure you can all appreciate the completely inessential things one desperately needs in their life but is not willing to dip into their limited funds to pay for. Hence, the Odyssey income.
Bless up.
