"Pretend you are explaining your favorite T.V. show to someone who has never seen it."

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is known as today's number one drama show on television. Though currently CBS is airing the fourteenth season, lets start from the beginning.

In season one, Leroy Jethro Gibbs (the team leader who is played by Mark Harmon), Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo (member of team Gibbs; played by Michael Weatherly), and Special Agent Kate Todd (member of team Gibbs; played by Sasha Alexander) solve murders, kidnappings, fires, etc. They solve cases and help people. The three of them alone are not a team though. Forensic specialist Abby Sciuto (member of team Gibbs; played by Pauley Perrette) and medical examiner Doctor Donald Mallard, or as the team calls him, Ducky (member of team Gibbs; played by David McCallum) also assist Kate, Tony, and Gibbs in solving crimes.

As seasons go on, Special Agent Tim McGee (played by Sean Murray) soon becomes apart of team Gibbs.

McGee is the brains of the operation. He can hack anything and he is the computer guy. Dinozzo is the class clown. While he is playing the role of a very capable investigator, he never fails to lighten the mood with jokes and his own unique personality. He and Kate have a love hate relationship and they are always messing with each other. Dinozzo is also known for his inventions of new names for McGee such as McGeek, McGoo, McNerd, and so many others. Abby is so smart and so talented in her field. She mainlines caffeine and getting between her and her Cafpow is not a good idea. Ducky is smart and full of information. With just about any case, he has a story that goes with it. Gibbs plays boss man but also plays a father figure to the team members.

Kate eventually makes her way off the show and Mossad officer Ziva David (played by Cote de Pablo) takes the empty chair. While at first Ziva is just a liaison officer, she eventually cuts her ties from Israel and becomes an NCIS Special Agent and an American citizen. Since Ziva has a background at Mossad, she is dangerous and knows how to fight. She can take anybody down, most with just one hand. She and Tony automatically form a bond that is undeniable.

After Ziva leaves after several seasons on the show, former NSA analyst Ellie Bishop (played by Emily Wickersham) takes the empty chair previously occupied by Ziva. Bishop brings an interesting twist to the team. She is different than the others.

The season finale of season 13 was for sure a tear jerker. I will not reveal what happens because it will give a lot away but Tony finds a reason that is important enough to leave Gibbs and the team behind.

In season fourteen, new faces are introduced. Bishop and McGee gain two new team members to work alongside. Special Agent Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) and Special Agent Alex Quinn (played by Jennifer Esposito) join the team for season 14.

If you have not seen this show or you do not watch it, I highly recommend getting into it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
