Why I Write

You never know when your thoughts will change someone's day, or perhaps life.

Why I Write
The Odyssey

Everyone writes for different reasons. Whether it's to inform others about current events, to make one's voice be heard, to raise questions about society, or to simply pass time, there are multitudes of thoughts that go into writing a poem, a story, an article, a paper, a song, etc.

I personally write to connect with others and to let my own ideas be brought into the light.

It's an unspoken relationship between a writer and a reader. A reader can hate something I write, and I wouldn't know. The same goes for someone who loves something I create. I aim to build that unspoken and unheard relationship with a reader and connect with them. I want them to relate to my words, my stories, and my thoughts. I aim for those to find comfort in what I have to say, to know that they are not alone.

If you follow the articles I've written, I tend to shy away from factual articles or political ones, because I'm not a truly political person myself. I love reading political or scientific articles with unique focuses because I think it makes me more of a well-rounded person; however, personally, I think I can impact people in a more powerful way if I write the carefree, funny articles that I'm used to writing.

I write using a sort of stream of consciousness. My writing may not be structured perfectly or utilize the best vocabulary or sentence structure. I try to write how I normally speak and think, to give people a sense of the person that I am (whether they enjoy that or not). I try to become more personable and relate to people on a more human level, that's just how I think.

I really take it to heart when someone shares or likes my article. When I have a higher number of reads than normal, I know that I have affected people. Whether I have made them smile or simply lightened their mood, it brings me tremendous satisfaction and happiness. I'm not a great public speaker nor am I particularly a comfortable one, so writing is an easier way for me to touch people and integrate my message into their minds for maybe just a second or two.

For those who know me, I tend to be on the quieter side until I'm comfortable around you and writing is a way for me to spread my sometimes quirky and interesting ideas. It's a way for me to pull my thoughts out of the darkness of my mind and into the light.

I encourage everyone to read more articles, maybe write a little if you're stressed or excited about something. You never know when your thoughts will change someone's day or perhaps life.

female tv characters
We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
