To the ones who crave the creation of mass chaos among the world and the ones who thrive on the idea that death can make you powerful,

You should know, this is not out of malicious intent. Or maybe it is; I haven't figured that out yet.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know, because I'm curious. I want to know about you, I want to know what your interests are. Do you like sports? Do you like music? I want to know about your family. Do you have children, do you have a spouse? Do you love them? What would you do without them? What do you think about when you wake up and see the sun shining? What do you think about when you look into the eyes of a child, or you look into the eyes of someone who carries decades of memories?

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know if you can imagine your life if you were a victim of something as horrific as this. Here's what it would be like: You'd go to wake up your spouse, and they wouldn't be there. You'd go to wake up your kids, and they wouldn't be there. You'd go through your daily routine, but this time, it's special; it's a difficult kind of special. It’s not the kind of special a sixteenth birthday is when you finally get the keys to the car you’ve been desperately craving to drive. It’s not the kind of special that you are promised on your wedding day. It’s the kind of special that any average person would prefer to live without. It’s the kind of special where you don't go through your day-to-day lifestyle with your family, because they are gone, and they are not coming back. And you can't help but to carry what feels like a 20,000-pound weight on your heart, because they're irreplaceable, and you know that.

Now, imagine that feeling inside of not one, but tens of hundreds of families. Imagine how that feeling is, except multiplied. Imagine it.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know, because I want to know who taught you how to love, because obviously, it went in one ear and out the other. Can you tell me what love is to you? Do you even know how to love? Have you heard the word? Do you know the feeling of butterflies that live within you when you see the one you love? Do you know how it feels to find something you're passionate about and be completely content with where you are in life and not have a care in the world? Love is a feeling, love is an action, and love is everything. Love is not forcing your beliefs down the throat of someone else, specifically because they don't agree with you. Love is not found behind a promise of pulling a trigger. Love is not killing people.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know what made your heart so cold. I want to know how you live with yourself, knowing that you have created such a dark cloud over the world. I want to know how you enjoy the little moments found in the change of the fall leaves. I want to know what you believe is the right way, and I want to know why you hate being wrong. I want to know why you have created such chaos in the world. As someone who has survived a school shooting, I can tell you that recovering from something so horrible takes so long. It took me 4 years to get over the shooting; imagine how long it will take the survivors to recover from something YOU did. I want to know why killing people was something that you could take pride in. Is it about the ego, now? Are you really going to start killing groups of people, because you need to boost your ego with your "friends" or your "guy/girl squad" or whatever you want to call it. Who did this to you? Why are you the way that you are?

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know if you know what hatred is. Hate is a bitter knife on your tongue and an untamed fire within your lungs. It is one of the most powerful, most manipulative forces that currently resides within the world and hasn't stopped for many years. I want to know if hate is your version of love.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know if you know how powerful of a force hatred is. Since the creation of Earth, it has been present. Since they have been created, we have used guns and grenades to make a point about our hatred for a certain situation or group. I want to know if you understand that you have been brainwashed by the most brutal of all forces, and you have acted on it, causing chaos and disorder. How do you expect to have everyone agree with you, if you keep killing everyone?

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know what you think about seconds before you pull the trigger. Do you think about what could happen if you fail? I want to know if you think about something that could hold you back. Do you think about your daughter or son and how they would continue to live if they knew that you did this? That you ended so many lives, simply because you did not agree? I want to know if you think about how other people will go on with their lives, knowing that they have fallen victim to your hatred?

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know if you know how unbelievably disgusting you are for killing people who are like you. They probably share common interests; they like the same music and laugh at the same jokes that you do. They could be on your side. I want to know if you realize how disturbing it is that you can casually kill people, because it's something that makes you happy. I want to know if you realize how much this makes the rest of the human race look down upon you. I want you to know that you are, in fact, the scum of the earth, and it is absolutely saddening that you are so pathetic.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

I want to know.

I want to know what you think this would have done, and what it actually did. I want you to know that you have caused the entire human race to live in fear. I want you to know that I cannot stand in a large crowd, out of fear that this will happen to me and the people that I love. I want to know if you think that the world would fall apart if you did this. I want to know if you think everyone would hate each other, and I'm not so sorry to let you down, but this only created a better, stronger international feeling of love. It's such a great, empowering feeling.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

To the one's who crave the creation of mass chaos among the world,

violence is not the answer to get everyone on your side.

But, you wouldn't know, would you?

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
