Would Jesus Be In The Crowds Of Protesters?

What Is He saying about these movements?

Would Jesus Be In The Crowds Of Protesters?
The Seattle Times

I believe that we can say, as teens and young adults, that things are definitely not the same as children. For me personally, I do not even turn on my local TV news station anymore. Why? It's full of violence and division. A division of race, beliefs, color, and anything really... We are seeing very similar things as the teens and young adults did in 1968. Protests for civil rights and violence are no surprise for today. One night, I had to spend the night at a friend's house because the area near my house was being filled with protesters in the streets; the news reported to stay indoors due to the violence.

The question popped in my mind, what would Jesus say if He was standing here today? Would He be in the crowed protesting too? Would He try and stop it; would He be mad at us? Would He change His mind on things?

Hebrews 13:8 says, Jesus Christ is the same today, tomorrow and forevermore. One incredible thing about Jesus, is that He can't be persuaded; He never changes. Imagine that: if Jesus changed, we wouldn't have a stable hope, a stable savior. The word Holy, is defined as set apart. Our hope is in some one who is like no other. Proverbs 14:12 makes it clear that there is a way that seems right to men but leads to death. There is a way that seems right to a generation, each generation, but it does not bring fulfillment.

Going back to 1968, around this time and years forward, a radical movement was also taking place, The Jesus Revolution. This was a time which massive crowds are being saved, set free and encountering the love of Jesus. In such time of division, Jesus was bringing a movement of unity. It always seems that when things are at it's worst, Jesus comes! Thinking about when Jesus was born. At the time, the Romans were in charge. The Romans were unjust, and cruel; it was political chaos. The people were looking for a hope and savior. Then, Jesus came, the light of the world.

"What if we were in the time that we were for the greatest outpouring of His glory that has ever been seen by mankind." - Brian Barcelona

If Jesus were standing here today, He would not be alarmed, shocked, or disappointed. He is not in the crowed protesting; He's isn't even saying a word about it. He is simply being Jesus, healing, saving, freeing and awakening a generation. He is not moved by what the world is moved by. When God created the heavens and earth, He knew. He knew when times would seem bad for human history; He knew when He would come with revival. He has it all planed out. We must also not be moved by what the world is moved by. Our inheritance is peace and joy, not violence, fear, division. If Jesus came then, He will come again.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
