Vintner's Daughter, Magic in a $185 Bottle

Worth The Splurge?

Listen, if anyone knows how to take the term "treat yo-self" and run with it, it's me. At only 19 years old I can confidently, although not proudly, admit that I have a blooming shopping addiction. Clothes, makeup, and skincare have always my vices, but there are still certain products that make me wonder "Is this really worth it?" This isn't necessarily saying I don't want to own said products, but more so that I can't at this point in my life. For example, it probably was not appropriate for me to be browsing Cartier "Love" bracelets at the age of fifteen, when my sole source of income was babysitting for the neighborhood kids.

One of these said products is Vintner's Daughter, the "face oil to end all face oils" according to "Into The Gloss." April Gargiulo, creator of this holy grail in a bottle, sought to create a product that was entirely organic, which isn't necessarily a new idea. She combined 22 active botanicals designed to work in harmony to solve issues ranging from aging to hormonal acne. I had heard of this miracle skincare product last year and while I am willing to do just about anything for "glowing" skin, I didn't feel as though I could justify the $185 price tag for just over 1oz of product.

That is until a package containing Vintner's Daughter arrived with my mom's name on it.

Clearly my addiction is hereditary, but I really can't blame my mom. It was beautiful. The packaging, the detailed instructions spelled out with care, the earthy smell of the oil... All exactly as dreamy as I'd hoped. This is how I found myself patting exactly 7 drops of a 185 dollar oil onto my face, loving every second of it, and subsequently looking for Vintner's Daughter coupon codes online (I didn't find any).

So, are these pricey products worth the stress on your wallet? That's up to you. Personally, as someone who loves skincare and enjoys such products, this oil made me feel amazing. It led my sister to wonder aloud, "What if I used this every day for the rest of my life? I'd look 40 years-old at the age of 60."

I've resolved to try not to purchase anything solely for the hype, but every once and again you find a product that exceeds it. Unfortunately, I am a currently unemployed college student, so it looks like I'll have to wait for my next visit home to use this magic oil.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
