Why Odyssey? Well for all you readers out there, you probably have seen thousands of articles appear on your facebook walls from the semi-random online forum called Odyssey. And as time has gone on, you've probably gotten annoyed of the thousands of posts of week popping up on your feed - well I am sorry and I get it.
Before being a part of this writing platform, I was annoyed too. I never understood what the hype of all these articles that seemed the same to me was. Now, being a writer for Odyssey, I understand the greatness.
Being a part of something bigger than myself has taught me many things that have changed me for the better.
Odyssey has allowed myself and other writers to have our voices heard. Whether we decided to write about politics, life hacks or just casual life experiences, we can choose. Having the ability to write whatever, whenever is a tool that has taught us how to reach our target audience and gain an understanding of what our voice wants to be as writers.
Being a part of a community that is so supportive of one another has been an experience in itself and one I would never take back. Even if cramming to write an article before the deadline was something that stressed me out at times, the outcome of seeing how many people read or share your articles makes it all worthwhile.
Just a year and a half ago, I had no idea who I wanted my future vocation to be. Now, after writing for Odyssey, I have gained a passion for writing. While writing I have discovered what I am most interested in writing about. Usually, as I cram to write an article or have an endless amount of time I find myself writing about travel, day-to-day experiences or certain opinions that I have towards technology or just life itself.
These 50+ articles I have written over the time being have shaped me into the writer I am today and person I strive to be. Someone who is informative, open-minded and knows the facts. Without Odyssey, I would still be the same person I was a year and a half ago not having an idea in the world on what I want my future to even hold.
Thank you, Odyssey for giving me that outlook and allowing others to experience the same.
