For students all across the world, school is a place to learn in a safe and steady environment.

Sadly, some schools cannot offer these luxuries and students are forced to work in a crime filled environment.

Here are five of the worst schools in America.

1. Southview High School, Missouri

As you can see, Southview High School in Missouri is rated the worst school in America. With an average ACT of 15 and a four-year graduation rate of 31 percent, Southview falls way behind the Missouri state averages for high school.

2. International High School, Massachusetts

International High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts comes in at number two. International HS has an average SAT score of 912 and a four-year graduation rate of a low 49 percent. Students in this school have extremely low test averages in math and English, with four percent and one percent, respectively.

3. Chester High School, Pennsylvania

Chester high school is located in Pennsylvania and is ranked the third worst school in America. With the average SAT score at a mere 1092 and a 58 percent four -year graduation rate, Chester's academic side is very concerning.

4. Cave Springs High School, Oklahoma


Cave Springs High School in Oklahoma takes the number four spot in the worst schools in America. With 0 percent AP course participation and an average of 16 on the ACT, Cave Springs is falling behind academically.

5. Springfield Public Day High School, Massachusetts

Landing In fifth place is the Springfield Public Day High School in Springfield Massachusetts. SPDHS has a horrible 27 percent four- year graduation rate and only has 117 students enrolled in their program. Test scores at this school are extremely low when compared to state averages.
