Worship & Waffles

A time of praise, worship, and waffle grubbin'

Last night was full of worship and waffles.

A weird combination? Yes.

A night that I'll never forget? Definitely!

Last night in Greensboro, NC there was an event called, Worship & Waffles, which consisted of college groups from all over North Carolina gathering in a church to worship, and soon after, enjoy some waffles.

It all started with five of us college students smushed into a tiny Honda Accord for an hour and a half ride up to Greensboro. As worship music softy played in the back of the car, I silently prayed that the Holy Spirit would open my heart to the worship I was to hear later tonight.

When we arrived, my heart was racing with excitement.

What songs would be performed? Who would perform? How many people will show up? What kind of waffles will be served? These were the thoughts that raced through my head as the five of us stepped out of the car and walked towards the church.

When I walked in, I was faced with many college students standing in anticipation all for the same reason: to worship Jesus.

To me, this thought was mind-blowing. Not only was the Lord able to gather these college students for one night to celebrate Him, but it also reminded me how privileged I am to live in a country where I can freely worship my Savior.

As the night went on, Jesus was worshiped with hours of song and praise, all while stuffing our faces with a variety of waffles.

When it was time to go, I was left with a sense of thankfulness that left me with one thought: What a night, what an opportunity, and most importantly, what a God we serve.
