Worshipping Through Creation

Worshipping God can be sitting in peace.

Worshipping Through Creation

Worship is so much more than just singing songs. The Lord God almighty is worthy of all praise. Have you ever thought about how much he really loves you? Like actually thought about it? It blows my mind that the Lamb of God is obsessed with ME. God gives us many opportunities to worship him everyday. Well, this weekend he gave me the opportunity to sit in peace and thank him for his beautiful creation.

I went kayaking in Austin, Texas this weekend with my boyfriend. We were on the river right by downtown. I put my swim suit on, applied sunscreen, got a life jacket and was out on the water. I was in a red, white, and blue kayak and had a white paddle. The second I pushed off the dock and was officially kayaking I had the biggest smile on my face.

I found my obsession for kayaking two summers ago when a couple of friends invited me to go to the lake with them. They were kayaking and asked if I wanted to join. Although I had never got in a kayak, I went for it. I stayed on the water until the sun went down and even then didn’t want to get out. I then asked for a kayak for Christmas and got one! I have a small lake back behind my house so I love going out and kayaking.

This area in Austin was absolutely gorgeous. Trees surrounded this river almost making a canopy with the blue sky and houses sat on the very top of the hills. Every where you looked you saw one of four things; the huge bridge, the beautiful, clear water, houses, or the color green. For 2 1/2 hours I shut out everything but me, the water, my boyfriend, and the breathe-taking art work God had created surrounding me. It was peaceful to sit back and let the water slowly drift me and push aside all worries that this crazy life brings. I was able to not worry, or stress about anything. I had time to sit in peace and praise the Creator. We get so caught up in everything we forget to sit in peace and worship the King of Kings. Christians think worship is simply the worship team singing three songs on Sunday morning. Worship is more than singing. Worship is sending love and honor to the Savior. Thanking him in prayer, reading your Bible, doing service for others, and for me recently it’s been sitting in peace. We have so much to offer to Christ and we’re created to worship him.

So the next time you’re outside or get the oppurtunity to go kayaking, DO IT. And sit in peace glorying and worshipping Jesus.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
