What The World Was Like Without The Internet

This was something that I recently saw trending on Twitter. I have thought about it and did not come across it until now. The internet to me is very important, I cannot imagine my life without it. So to think that there was a world where it did not occur, it is just hard for me to picture.

My parents have told me on multiple occasions that they grew up without the internet and were able to survive without it. They had to actually go to books in their school libraries and find out the answers to their questions, they could not just google it like we would have done today. So I think that probably was challenging for them, but it was all they had at the time. It was their normal.

They also had to handwrite everything, including citations. I do not know about you, but me and EasyBib are best friends, copy and paste then boom there's my citation in one click. To me, I just could not fathom having to hand write everything down on a sheet of paper. But that is what they had to do back then, it was all a different learning experience without the internet!

I think that it would be cool just for a day for everyone to live without the internet. Most certainly, I would want to watch everyone around me and see how they would be surviving without the internet. Yes, the internet would also include phones if this were to happen because all of our apps on our phones can be accessed online in some form and because well duh there's also google, that is also internet.

I guess we truly will never know what it is like to live in a world with no internet. But it is nice to know that we have evolved as a society since then. I think that having the internet now has made a huge impact so far. Nevertheless, I do think that it is important to not use the internet when we don't need to use it. But when we do, I hope that we will always remember that we are lucky to live in the age of the internet!

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Barn Pros

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
