If you’re reading this, it means that you, A) follow me and my amazing social media, B) have mutual friends/interests, C) Googled or D) feel the same.
I bet you’re wondering what I’m talking about. What could I possibly be on about (again)? Simply put, I’m tired.
Of what? Of everything.
Don’t get me wrong, I know the saying “I’m tired of everything” is over used, especially on social media. Teens and twenties use the phrase to describe how they’re feeling when, in reality, they really aren’t tired, they are more than that. They’re just done. They’re tired of it all.
It’s a common feeling these days for high school and college students. Everything wasn’t how it was 10, 20 or more years ago. The internet, social media and just how we treat one another is different. A lot of things people don’t understand.
But what exactly am I tired of? A lot of things.
I’m tired of being undermined.
I’m tired of not being good enough for people.
I’m tired of being the only person to want to do things.
I’m tired of people not treating me the way I do.
I’m tired of second guessing myself to please others.
I’m tired of being put on the back burner.
I’m tired of being taken for granted.
As you can see, a lot of the things I’m tired of reflect upon the people I surround myself with. I’m not a perfect person, and a lot of the things I’m tired of have to do with myself.
I’m tired of not getting enough sleep.
I’m tired of looking into the mirror and not being happy with what I see.
I’m tired of how I act in some situations.
I’m tired of how easy I can cry.
I’m tired of trying to be perfect and always falling short.
I’m tired of procrastinating.
I’m tired of how easy I can forgive someone.
I’m tired of believing that people can be interested in me.
I’m tired of selling myself short.
Oh, but let's not forget what is going on in this world.
I’m tired of watching our country, MY country be run into shambles by an underqualified President.
I’m tired of watching racism and discrimination become normal.
I’m tired of watching innocent people get killed because of how easily accessible guns are.
I’m tired of having friends, family, and people of my community be afraid to do things because of the color of their skin.
I’m tired of having men and women raped and their rapist be let out in society without a care.
I’m tired of people treating others poorly.
I’m tired of not having decent human beings in this world.
I’m exhausted and I know a lot of people are as well.
So when you hear and read people being tired, trust me, we are.
