We discovered the world through a text book, raised not to make a difference in this world, raised to be no different. Smart enough to do our job, but not to question why we do it. There are so many things that need to be done and need to be fixed. This world is so corrupt it hurts my heart to live in it.

The rapists think they are entitled and can blame the victim for alcohol abuse. The second amendment has been destroyed through all the mass shootings and innocent deaths and the people have the nerve to blame it on guns. The racism, gender inequality, sexual orientation, and assumptions of people is ruining the freedom. The vehicles think they own the road making bikers scared to go for a bike ride due to possibly not making it back home alive. The possible future presidents are down to Hillary and Trump and there's nothing more Americans want to do then leave the country. The greatest icons in the world all passed away within a week of each other leaving everyone lost. The fact that animals are still being used for entertainment alone and being killed by humans because of humans mistakes, is a whole issue in itself. And how the people think "sharing" the post about the incident is going to bring awareness and fix everything.

This world is corrupt. People don't understand how to be inclusive. People don't understand person first language & it's hurting others more than they realize. People say the younger generations are all babies when all they want is pure respect and they are not quitting until they get that. People don't understand that not everyone is a hundred pounds and curves are actually more beautiful then a stick. People don't understand that not everyone is lucky enough to have their parents help with money related things and that some people have to work for their rewards. People don't understand that not everyone is like them but that's the beauty of the world.

This world is corrupt. We work 9 to 5, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. We lose faith spiritually and physically in others. We lose sight of what our values are and then lose ones closest to us. We sit around hoping someone else is going to do something but realize that everyone thinks that way and now nothing is getting done. People complain and think that's going to fix it. But the world doesn't need to be corrupt. If you believe in making a change, have values and beliefs, and want a better world to live in, then you need to do something. You need to be the change. You need to find that social issue you are passionate about, you need to commit yourself to that social issue, you need to find others with that same common purpose and collaborate to work towards being the change, and then that corrupted world will be one less social issue away from the better world.

So, what would happen if everyone cared? For instance, a woman witnessed three children killed during a political turmoil. Within two days of the tragic event, she obtained 6,000 signatures petitioning for peace. She then led 35,000 people on a peace march to the children's graves. This woman, Betty Williams, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This is just one example of how this now iconic woman found something she was passionate about and made a difference. There are so many other iconic people out there that started as one person who wanted to make a change and did it. They were just like you and still found a way to do more than just "share" it. No more blaming the inanimate objects, the government and officials, the friends and family. The world is corrupt because the people are. Be the change.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
