Working with kids can be amazing. It can also be the worst part of your day. It can be a lot of things. You never know what you're going to come home with that day. It can be the best thing that ever happened to you, but it can also leave your heart so broken that you will never see the world the same. This is working with children, as shown by Boo from Monster's Inc.
1. They don't care what you look like
I have never once had a child say to me," that sweater makes you look fat." They might scare the crap out of you though.
2. They are seriously the funniest people you've ever met
They say the weirdest crap and you never know what is going to come out next.
3. You know they need help
Kids can't do a lot of things themselves, and it makes you feel better knowing you're helping someone who truly needs it.
4. You can teach them how to do things they won't learn in school
Shaping America's youth anyone?
5. They miss you when you're not around
6. ...but they always will love when you come back
7. You get snacks
Food? Did I hear food?
8. You get to do what they do
Sometimes it can be scary; but who doesn't like going for walks or painting pumpkins in fall?
9. You can say "when I was your age" or "back in my day" and actually mean it
...and they will give you the same look you give your dad when he says it
10. They will cry or become upset and you will have no idea what to do
11. They're kind of really gross
What is that sticky stuff all over you?????
12. It's basically like having children but without all the responsibility
13. They feel like your children
Their joys are yours, but you also share their pain and sadness.
Overall, you should do it if you feel you should. It's a choice that you want to make on your own becuase it can be really taxing, but really rewarding. I love working with children but I understand that you get out what you put into it.
