Christmas shopping is a battle field and us retail workers are thrown right in the middle of war. We definitely don't get enough credit, for dealing with such rude customers and everything else that comes with Christmas shopping. Here is the reality of Working in retail during the holidays:
1. Rude Customers
We don't appreciate your attitude when we are just trying to help.
2. Christmas Music
We have to listen to the same 5 Christmas songs throughout our whole entire shift.
3. The Non Stop Basic Questions
"Do you work here?" "How much is this?" "Can you open a fitting room?" "Why isn't this free?" blah blah blah
4. The Crowd
it is impossible to move around when there are people slowly shopping around and you are just trying to do your job.
5. The destroyed store
We are the ones that recover the store after you throw clothes on the floor and leave them in a pile in the wrong spot.
6. No Parking
When I have to work in five minutes and there are no spots.
7. Returns
After christmas there are only returns.
8. Expired Coupons
My manager is going to say the same thing I just said.
9. The Last Minute Shoppers
There is always that one customer that comes in at closing and doesn't even end up buying anything.
10. Appreciation
However, when it is our turn to do our christmas shopping, we learn to appreciate fellow retail workers.
