Every day you walk in with the confidence that it's going to be a good day. Trying to stay positive because you know that all hell could break loose at any given moment.
Not too long after you show up, the first kids arrive giving you a glimpse of what the day is going to look like.
All the kids are there and none of them have caused a scene yet. So you're starting to feel like this is going to be a good day.
But after being in the gym for two seconds that confidence about the day goes away, because someone just knocked someone else out while playing dodgeball.
You go back to the room for snack, with hope that everything will go well, but that same kid smashes his crackers and spills them all over the floor and all remaining hope for the day is gone.
You and your co - workers manage to get the room cleaned up during silent reading time, and the kids are actually silently reading. Maybe things are actually taking a turn for the better.
Then a kid ask you to play Uno, and you know you are stuck playing Uno until you close, because they are always picked up last.
But the end of the day finally comes and the last kid is picked up. You somehow got through another shift, thanks to your co - workers.
Now to go home and get some rest to prepare for the next day. Because the adventures never stop, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
