Spring and summer are the two seasons where I feel like comparison weighs most heavily on our hearts. It's a time where people post photos of themselves on the beach in their swimsuits having the "time of their lives."
If you're a normal human-being then you will look at these photos, look down at your body and then say to yourself, "she doesn't have big thighs like I do," or "his arms are bigger than mine," and it will continue until you have convinced yourself that you're not good enough to the public eye.
For me, I had a hard time finding confidence in my height. I know I'm personally still working on how I view myself, but something that has been told to me over and over again over the last couple of years is, "God made you."
Every single human on this Earth was individually crafted with a purpose and looks the way they do for a reason. God gave you that birthmark on your face, He purposely gave you big eyes or a pointed nose, why?
Because you're beautiful no matter what anyone says. You have a purpose in life that has a deeper meaning than the way you look. Someday, you'll find someone that loves the parts of yourself that you hate.
I pray that you find beauty in the things that make you different, in the things that set you apart from everyone else and make you unique. Self-love is one of the purest forms of love. It reflects how you love others.
Love who you are. Love who God made you to be.
"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
