5 Ways My Coworkers Make Work Worthwhile
Hidden Remote

Like most adults, I have to go to work every day and like everyone, I dread going to work. The thought of it just makes exhausted, but I go to be able to pay my bills, buy groceries and gas, and be able to do fun stuff on my days off. The only thing that really motivates me to go to work are my coworkers (well besides money lol). They just make my day so much better and they make time pass so much faster. These are the ways they make work fun.

1. They have interesting conversations.

With my coworkers, I learn something new every day. Whether it is about what classes they are taking this semester or what hobby they are into now, we always have fun and interesting topics to talk about. We either end up being super intrigued or we just end up laughing about whatever we are talking about.

2. HOT GOSSIP.

We always get together and gossip about celebrities or people... and it is so much fun! We always get the juicy details of everything we saved for each other. We love trying to figure who's dating and who's not. This helps pass the time faster because we get so caught up in doing research and finding out some more information.

3. We help each other out.

When times get tough, we always have each other's backs. I love how we all literally work as a team and help each other out. My favorite part is how none of us expect anything in return. Sometimes if one of us is weeded, the other will rush and help us out without being asked and I am so grateful for that because I have never worked in a place where the coworkers actually work together.

4. We get frustrated at the same things.

When it comes to working at a restaurant, there are a lot of things that can make us frustrated. Number one on the list is the customers - they easily push our buttons and we all can relate to this. When we are frustrated, we are able to get everything off our chests by just talking to each other. A pair of listening ears can go so far and my coworkers make the best ones.

5. We take time creating secret menus.

Whenever it is slow at work or we are really hungry, we go through the menu and try to see what concoction we can make with the certain foods. It is also loads of fun because we are able to try the foods we have combined. Some of them are delicious, some of them are atrocious. But its OK, it is all good times.

Work sucks, but the employees there make it so much more worthwhile. They make me excited to go to work and I just love spending time with them. They are the best friends I didn't expect to meet. I can't ask for better coworkers and I don't even need to.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
