What Studying Abroad is Like As Described By The Kardashians
E!

You see the advertisements around your school’s campus, but you may not pay any attention to them: EducationAbroad – the opportunity of a lifetime! Studying abroad is expensive and it isn’t always safe to go to a new country. Maybe you’ve never left the U.S. and don’t feel comfortable with the idea of being in a new place. It may sound scary, but eventually, you give it a shot. Hey, why not? The Kardashians get to travel the world so why shouldn't I? This experience isn't as glamorous as a Kardashian vacation, but it is just as eventful. You laugh, learn, and sometimes even cry. Who else to perfectly summarize it other than America's favorite family?

1. When you realize that you’ll finally be able to fulfill your dream.

2. Saying goodbye to your family like:

3. And then finally getting off the plane ready to conquer a new country:

4. The wave of exhaustion that hits you after 12 hours of traveling and unpacking into your new home:

5. But you have to pull yourself together because it’s only 6 p.m. and the night is still young.

6. The first day of classes when you realize everything isn’t fun and games, and you’ll actually have to study.

7. But most of your assignments can be done while experiencing the culture, so it’s OK.

8. Indulging in the food like

9. However, you eventually realize money doesn’t grow on trees and you’ll have to start making your own food at home.

10. Realizing the things you need to change about yourself as a result of the amazing people you meet:

11. Remembering you have to call home so your family knows you’re still alive.

12. But eventually you realize your time is almost over:

13. And that finals still exist.

14. All good things must come to an end, and one day you start getting ready to go back home.

15. Once you get home, you find comfort in the fact that you’ll always have the memories … and a great resume booster.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
