Dear Mom,
We've been through so much together. We've experienced the best moments in each other's lives and the worst moments. Being a single mother, you've conquered so much, you've been the mom and dad in almost every situation. You've taught me things I never thought I could be taught. I can always come to you when things get rough and you'll always be there and I know even when it's something bad, you might give me constructive criticism but you know what's best cause you've been through more than me.
You've been through so much personally, I know things, and some things I don't know. But just know I will always be here no matter what and won't judge you because we are not perfect, and it's okay to accept the flaws we have. I'm going to college soon, becoming the adult you're raising me to be and succeeding in whatever it is God has for me. It's gonna take me awhile to get use to not always being around you, but I know I'll be just fine.
I have a job now, my first job, and you are there rooting me on, saying I'm going to do well. When I was in high school, you put up with so much; grades, drama, events, sports, etc. but you were by my side every step of the way until I reached that final day of high school. As I get older and we start seeing each other less and less, I will remember everything you've told me and everything you've taught me.
You're such a strong lady, and I wish everyone could see that. You're hardworking, and determined, even when stress kills you, you always find a way to make me, my brother, and other family members or friends happy. If I ever lost you, I don't know what I would do because you're so important to me no other lady, besides you and my grandma can push me to do greater things as you guys can.
Thank you for the good food you cook, the clothes on my back that I couldn't afford, the concerts that you offered to take me to, the friends houses you took me over and everything else you have done for me because without you leading me and guiding me, I'd be nothing or out in the streets but you taught me to be more than that and hold my ground, stand up for myself , and be an independent black woman that doesn't let people run over her, and know the difference between right and wrong.
I love you so much, never change. Stay strong and keep being the great mother that you are.
With love,
Your daughter Tyra. ♥
