A Few Words On The Fallen State Of Man

The divide between nations, religions, the sexes, the so-called 'races,' and other groups of the world has in late time only seemed to widen with the unfolding of tragic human events. Terror, a word swung by the whip of media to keep viewers reeling with shock value, as a word, only further increases the distance amongst the people of the Earth and thus opens the gateway to the violence which incites it. Terror is in this way, as a concept, self-existent as long as its utterance continues to be invoked to keep people terrorized, as the North American media does to its fearfully complacent populace. The concept of terror is born from the belief of identity dualism: a belief that differences between another person's opinions or interests and our own are at odds and so must be fought over to assert the rightness of one or the other. Identity dualism is to blame for every war in history, and war is the singular most atrocious and self-deprecating thing to ever be created by man.

The Hermetics call this the "fallen state;" where we are now is a result of involution, the reverse of evolution, and like unto the individual who experiences crisis, humankind collectively has to sink to the bottom of an ocean of despair before we will find the sense and rationale to improve our standards and escalate to good graces. In this fallen state, we are to experience a vast array of physical suffering, emotional turmoil, and eventual judgment to rebound us and set us along the right course.

The only escape from the fallen state of man is through enlightenment, and a cyclical recourse to history. In ancient Greece, when the Stoics gave in to materialism and dropped all spiritualism, (a move the Gnostics, who held light and spirit as holy and matter the product of evil, would have abhorred,) and popularized materialism in place of the ancient lore of Gods, the society saw an eventual regression into debauchery, lust, and wastefulness of life. Thus the philosophical migration to spirit began, and people developed their sense of honor, saw the importance of love, and sought unity with the divine nature found inside of man, which were embodied in the archetypes of the Gods.

In order for progression to occur, we must be like the magical movements of the past. As enlightenment and self-discovery bring more people to ascension, peace, and understanding, terror will have less of a grip upon the minds of humankind in the collective. War, greed, poverty, hunger, and pollution will cease with the spiritual advancement of the people of the globe, and Heaven will come to Earth at the end of the world.... According to what is held in religious prophecy.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
