Are you curious to know what's going to trend in fashion this summer? Based on what I've been seeing appearing in the store I work at and in other stores' summer collections, I think I have some ideas of what will be popular this summer. This may be something you want to know out of curiosity. You do not have to try and go out to find these trending items unless you want to. If you do, go right ahead! I may miss some things so feel free to mention what ever I miss! Majority of these things have already trended before of course. Fashion trends always make a comeback. Here is a list of what I expect to trend this summer!
1. Off the Shoulder / Cold Shoulder
There's a 99% chance that if you've been shopping lately, you've seen an off the shoulder/ cold shoulder top or dress. Some call it off the shoulder while some call it cold shoulder. It's a top like the one pictured above. I don't believe you if you say you haven't seen one of these. This is an old trend that coming back. Some people love this trend while others don't. If you're thinking of getting one or already have one, you could pair it with nearly anything! But for shoes I think sandals or heels would go best with it.
2. Graphic/ Slogan Tees
Remember your middle school days where all you wore was graphic tees? Well you can do that all over again! There are so many nice graphic tees out now that will pair perfectly with jeans or shorts and some sneakers! Along with graphic tees, slogan tees will be trending as well. I've seen some shirts with slogans such as "The Future is Female" and "We Should All Be Feminists." This season is all about making a statement and slogan tees allow you to do just that.3. Slides
Whether they be Fenty by Rihanna, Nike, Adidas, and more, slides have made a come back! These would be shoes that you would just wear at home or after practice but they are shoes you can wear to if you're going out to do some errands and you wouldn't be judged. They are so comfortable and some brands have managed to design to make them so stylish.
4. Plunging Necklaces
Lately it's been hard to find shirts or dresses without a plunging neckline. I just want a casual shirt or dress but this style is nice for something more dressy. It's cute! I've even seen the style on bathing suits as well. Perfect for the summer!
5. Sweatshirts
I know you're thinking "Sweatshirts in the summer?!" but pair these with some denim shorts and you have a nice outfit! It could be a cropped sweater, regular hoodie, or one like the one pictured above with lace up. A sweater comes in handy for a chilly day or a if you plan to go out later when the temperature drops.
