As someone who isn't society's standard of skinny, I struggle a lot when I go into clothing stores and look for any kind of pants. I find myself between a size 12-14 (a large or an XL), which is RIGHT in the middle of normal sizes and plus sizes. Half of the time I can shop in the normal section, and the other half of the time I shop in the plus size section. It's frustrating feeling like your body isn't made for clothes, and that nothing fits quite right. I cannot tell you how many times I've given up shopping and left a store feeling embarrassed and on the verge of tears.
I used to take this frustration out on myself until I realized how deep the inconsistency of sizes in clothing stores is. While doing some deep diving on twitter, I realized that I was not alone. A lot of women feel this way and are frustrated that they have a range of different sizes in their closet. As a society, we are told that the smaller number we are, the better and more attractive we are. But what do you do if you have a range of sizes between 6 to 14?

Why are women constantly feeling bad about their "size" when sizes don't exist? Why do we as a society completely ignore this problem? We expect all bodies to live up to standard images of beauty, but the truth is all bodies are different. ALL BODIES ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Companies should be more inclusive to help their customers feel good about themselves. Clothing is an expression of oneself, and your style should make you feel empowered and good about yourself! I am sick and tired of loathing every shopping trip. I am sick and tired of grabbing four different sizes and having none of them fit. I am sick and tired of stores being out of my size just because I am not a size 2. I am sick and tired of feeling defeated and like there is something wrong with me. And I know that I am not alone.
I want women to know that it is okay to feel this way and that they are not alone. Once I realized that this was a more common problem than I realized, I immediately felt better. It does suck that companies are inconsistent, and they should definitely fix this, but knowing that I am not alone made me realize that my body is NOTHING to be ashamed of. Bodies were not all made the same, and that is perfectly okay.

I am human. My body is beautiful, and so is yours. It doesn't matter what size you are, because you are so much more beautiful beyond that definition.
