This Saturday I was privileged to be a part of the Women's March in Raleigh, a sister event to the March on D.C. It was such an overwhelming feeling to be surrounded by men, women, and children who cared enough about their fellow humans to come out on a cold, rainy day and march for equality.
This event wasn't just about women's rights, but about making sure everyone is taken care of; Muslims, minorities, African Americans, the LGBTQ+ community, women, immigrants, everyone. The sense of unity was amazing. Everyone was smiling, was polite and helpful toward each other, like a big family.
And the signs? All the signs were wonderful!
