I'm a woman with a lot of opinions.

Just based on this first line I'm sure someone has clicked off, grumbling to themselves about the fact that A: No one asked for them, or B: No one said I couldn't share them. Either way, it can still be disheartening.

But that's just it. No one has to explicitly tell me they don't want to hear my opinions, rather they can show they are uninterested, bored, and even annoyed in more ways than one.

I think it all boils down to that some people don't like a strong woman who is confident in herself. Some people would rather we sit back and be passive. That's why I'm here to stress the importance of women speaking out, especially when it comes to controversial issues they feel strongly about. I'm just sick of women being put down for being strong, confident, and capable of creating intelligent, coherent thought.

Now more than ever we have to support one another. In times where people are continuously interrupting us, demeaning us in front of peers, we need one another to lean on. That's not to say that everyone does it, but there are people out there who will blatantly disregard what women have to say just on the sole basis that we are women.

Don't be afraid to share your opinions and thoughts, strongly, loudly, and confidently. Let them be heard. Remember who you are and don't be afraid to show it. You are strong, you are bold, and you have a voice. You deserve to be heard.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
