Why I Can't Be Afraid To Share My Support For Trump

I am done feeling ashamed of my political beliefs.

I've always been a Republican, I come from a Republican household and my political opinions have always veered more towards the right.

And since I am a Republican, I will be voting for Donald Trump on November 8th.

And yes, I am a woman (shocking, right?!). There is a lot of negative feedback that occurs whenever a woman openly admits that she is voting for Trump, mainly because of his "locker room talk" scandal and recent sexual assault allegations. In no way shape or form to I condone what he said, however, this happened back in 2005, which was 11 years ago and I believe that he is a changed man now. I believe that Trump is the best candidate because he truly is dedicated to improving America. Unlike Hillary Clinton, who seems to be more for herself than the American people.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for putting a woman in the White House, I just do not believe that Hillary Clinton should be that woman. However, I won't try and argue with anyone who does not agree with me and I certainly would never call them "ignorant" or "undereducated" just because we have different political views. I respect other people's opinions and believe that everyone should be able to express their beliefs without the fear of getting attacked by those who don't agree with them. I wish that this weren't the case for this election but it sadly is. I wish that I could openly express my opinions on this election without the fear of people calling me nasty things, and the fact that this is becoming a general occurrence is truly disturbing because it goes against everything people stand for. I should be able to express my opinion and I should not feel ashamed for voting in favor of the candidate I believe in, which in this case is Donald Trump. I had a lot of reservations about writing this article due to the negativism that I would most likely receive from those who do not agree with my viewpoint, however, this is not about others agreeing with me, it is about making the right decision based on my beliefs.

But I'm done being concerned about what others think and I'm done keeping my opinions to myself, I don't care if people don't agree with me or think I'm wrong for siding with Donald Trump. I am a woman, I am informed, I am voting for Donald Trump, and I am NOT ashamed of that. Remember you can't complain if you don't participate in the process.

No matter your opinion, your voice deserves to be heard, so please get out and vote on November 8th.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
