Distance you dissected;
disemboweled and left it
behind; for wolves,
flesh just shreds in stresses
as bloodletting bested;
no longer crawling,
this unstaggered agony accepted.
Blame is mine, abetted
though scarred, still so stupidly skeptic;
my skin so young
I could too easily misconceive...
a touch on my body leaving a pain so electric.
Nerves numbed, frayed and fretted;
a brush against abscesses, presses.
With what vague impressions left allowing
noise resounding
between the background hounds still howling
teeth bared, serrated grins still growling
and here you left me,
running footsteps matching heartbeats pounding
