If you’re like me, you’ve eaten everything our cafeteria has to offer. While it is all great, there are a few secrets to the café not everyone knows about. The next time you eat a meal in the cafeteria, take a few extra minutes to enjoy the secrets it has to offer.
Even though we got those brand new soda machines with all the new flavors this year, there is a drink you may have seen as you passed a few of the upperclassman. Rumor has it this drink was created by Jesse Smith, and that drink is the Green Drink. When blended just right, you have yourself a sweet and tasty beverage some people have described to taste like a Jolly Rancher candy. Great with lunch or dinner, the Green Drink will be sure to mix up your meals. Enjoy!
The Green Drink
Ingredients:
½ raspberry iced tea
½ Mountain Berry Blast Powerade (Blue Powerade)
Directions: Mix
If you are still looking for a beverage though more on the dessert side of things, well you’re in luck because this simple sip will top off your meal. Grab a glass because it is time for milkshakes.
Milkshake
Ingredients (proportional to the cafeteria cups):
¼ milk (more or less depending on your consistency preference)
¾ soft serve (chocolate or vanilla)
Directions: Stir; Add toppings if you like
If you are looking for a meal however, try your hand at some of the chicken the cafeteria has along with a waffle for a big plate of chicken-and-waffles. The cafeteria has their waffle maker out at all meals now, so take advantage of that after breakfast if you’d like!
Lastly, for the final café hack, prepare yourself for breakfast for dinner. Speaking of taking advantage of the waffle maker, another thing to notice is that the cafeteria has added pumpkin pie to their desert menu as we move into the colder season. I created this a week ago as I was still hungry during dinner, but I didn’t want to get the same thing twice. So I grabbed myself a slice of pumpkin pie and came up with the Pumpkin Spice Waffle.
Pumpkin Spice Waffle
Ingredients:
Slice of pumpkin pie
Waffle Batter
Directions:
- Fill a cafeteria cup 3/4’s full with waffle batter.
- Then take a slice of pumpkin pie and remove the crust.
- With what you have remaining without the crust, take a fork and mash it up well.
- Next, scoop the mashed pumpkin pie into the cup of batter and mix well.
- Then spray the waffle maker with nonstick spray
- And poor your new batter into the waffle maker
- Let cook for allotted time determined to the waffle maker
- Remove
- Enjoy!
