We all have heard of the famous show "Grey's Anatomy," fallen in love with McDreamy and McSteamy, been turned into a trance by Jackson Avery's beautiful eyes, and idolized Meredith and Christina's friendship. There are many more amazing things that have come from this show being on for so long. But one thing is for sure, it teaches a lot of life lessons that can help you throughout your life. Here are just a few of the life lessons I have learned over the years from watching "Grey's Anatomy."

1. Don't be too guarded in your life.

"At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That’s how we’re made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them."

2. Things are NOT always better in moderation.

"Something about the possibility of more—more tequila, more love, more anything. More is better."

3. Growing up sucks, but there's nothing you can do about it.

"You've grown up... that's a shame. It's awful being a grown-up, but the carousel never stops turning. You can't get off."

4. Everyone needs a person.

"At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want to be is close to someone."

5. Life can be a bitch.

"Life is short, George, life is short, and it sucks a lot of the time."

6. Don't be afraid to be scared.

"It's good to be scared. It means that you still have something to lose."

7. No one is perfect.

"I'm a human being. I make mistakes, I'm flawed—we all are"

8. One step at a time is okay.

"Just put one foot in front of the other. Just get through the day."

9. A parent's love is a one of a kind, kind of love

"You think true love is the only love that can crush your heart, that will take your life and light it up or destroy it. Then you become a mother."

10. Actions don't make you as a person.

"You did a terrible thing. It doesn't mean you're a terrible person."

11. Unexpected people in your life are the best.

"See, once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you, and once in a while, people may even take your breath away."

12. Always try.

"We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves that knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying."

13. Not always having control is an okay thing.

"No matter how hard you fight it, you fall. And it’s scary as hell. Except there’s an upside to freefalling. It’s the chance you give your friends to catch you."

14. Communication is key.

"Communication. It’s the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking, the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need."

15. True friends will always be around you.

"We’re friends, real friends. And that means, no matter how long it takes, when you finally do decide to look back, I’ll still be here."

16. Breaking down the walls are okay.

"Too often going after what feels good means letting of what you know is right. And letting someone in means abandoning the walls you took so long to build."

17. Life is simple.

"You know as well as I do it’s not about what you look like, or your job, or how successful you are. It’s about having people in your life that you love and who love you…that’s all that matters."

18. Change is good.

"Change: we don’t like it, we fear it, but we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change or we get left behind. And it hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But here’s the truth: the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Oh, sometimes change is everything."

19. The best days are never expected.

"You never know the biggest day of your life is going to be the biggest. The days you think are going to be big ones, they are never as big as you make them out to be in your head. It’s the regular days, the ones that start out normal. Those are the days that end up being the biggest."

20. The past has an impact.

"Sometimes the past is something you just can’t let go of. And sometimes the past is something we’ll do anything to forget. And sometimes we learn something new about the past that changes everything we know about the present."

21. Follow your heart.

"No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you’re just going to have to go with your gut. And maybe, just maybe, that’ll take you right where you were supposed to be."

"Sometimes it happens in an instance. We step up, we see a path forward. We see a path and we take it. Even when we have no idea where we’re going."

"If there's just one piece of advice I can give you, it's this—when there's something you really want, fight for it, don't give up no matter how hopeless it seems. And when you've lost hope, ask yourself in 10 years from now, you're gonna wish you gave it just one more shot because the best tings in life, they don't come free."

22. Trust is key.

"I'm still mad at you, and I don't know if I trust you. I wanna trust you, but I don't know if I do, so I'm just gonna try, I'm gonna try and trust you because I believe we can be extraordinary together rather than ordinary apart.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
