I had always been told that I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. My family & I put it off for so long. I'm talking years, even through my senior year volleyball season when they said it could mess up my teeth. Well finally, we decided it was time to get it over with, needless to say it was a blast! I got out of surgery in 25 minutes. It was crazy. I sat beside some small child in recovery. She was crying and trying to get up and remove her wires. I kept trying to tell her not to get up, but she continued to wave at me and try to get up. I felt so bad that I had to leave because I think I gave her some comfort.
My dad came down to visit & to do an early Christmas with my sister and I. So, I ended up in his truck after my surgery. My sister tells me that, of course, I cried. I cried because she told me I could not drink through a straw. I'm honestly so used to drinking through a straw because I work at Starbucks. Also, my dog is my best friend. I have written many articles on her, of course. My dad would not go pick my dog up and bring her to the hotel, which made me mad!
Other than being selfish and crying, my family has been by my side for days. My dad loaded me down with plenty of soup, yogurt, pudding and jello. My mom makes sure I take my medicine, that I gargle my salt water so I do not develop dry sockets. Anything I need, they bring to me. Honestly people, DO what the doctors tell you to do! I promise you, it works. Also, rest rest REST. It is sooooo important that you rest. Sleep is probably the best thing for you. If you take your medicine and follow the doctor's orders, you'll be just fine.
To my family, thank you! You guys have been awesome and I would not be in as good of shape as I'm in right now without you.
