It's safe to say in 2015 that YouTubers are becoming more and more well known. The first person that comes to mind when I think of YouTube is my favorite YouTuber, Tyler Oakley. And if you don't know who Tyler Oakley is, here we go. You're welcome.
Tyler first started making YouTube videos in 2007, while he was attending Michigan State University. Since then, Tyler has gained over 7 million subscribers on YouTube and his videos have over 500 million views collectively. So, Tyler has a lot of fans, and its all for a very good reason.
Tyler has been working with The Trevor Project since he first interned in 2009. The Trevor Project is an organization for the prevention of suicide among LGBT youth, since Oakley himself is openly gay. Tyler has hosted red carpet events for The Trevor Project, and with the help of his fans, (or as Tyler calls us, "my people") raised over $1 million for the organization in honor of Tyler's birthday over the course of 3 years.
Not only is Tyler Oakley supportive of an amazing charity, he also makes quality YouTube videos. His charisma, humor, and honesty can't be matched; he serves up major realness in his videos.
Plus, he gives some pretty great advice.
And he is the ultimate fangirl. He even put out shirts that said "Professional Fangirl" on it.
And to top it all off, Tyler wrote a book! His first book, Binge, comes out on October 20th. Even better, he might be doing a book signing in a city near you! Preorder Binge on Amazon, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for reading! Go check out Tyler on YouTube.
